Welcome to our friendly community in Anke Wagner Pilates studio. Located in Rowville, we offer Pilates Mat, Pilates Reformer, Pilates Barre, Anti Gravity Fitness and Nordic Walking. The classes are small with a maximum of three participants in one class that allows personal attention through the whole session. No matter of your age or fitness level Anke Wagner Pilates is the right place to experience creative and inspiring movement to challenge your body and brain.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is an overall body conditioning repertoire developed by Joseph Pilates that stretches, strengthens and aims for overall balance of the body.

The primary focus of the Pilates system is the strengthening of core muscles, which are essential to providing support for the spine and keeping the body balanced and better aligned.

Why is Pilates so effective?

Pilates requires an intense mind-body connection where the body is energized through deep breathing, supported by correct spinal and pelvic alignment and guided by a concentrated and focused mind through measured and efficient movement. Imbalances created through sedentary lifestyles often result in injury and back pain and are corrected through Pilates which provides the entire body with a balanced workout. This is achieved through the functional movements which make up the Pilates repertoire which activate several muscles at once, rather than targeting just one muscle group.

About Anke

Anke Wagner

Anke Wagner holds a Diploma in Visual Communication of the Fine Arts in Berlin, a Diploma in Professional Pilates Instruction certified through Polestar Pilates and a Certificate 4 in Bowen therapy. She has completed several Teacher Training courses with Garuda Pilates London for Seated and Standing matwork and the Garuda Apparatus, Teacher training with AntiGravity Fitness in Pilates, Suspension Fitness and Air Barre. She also instructs Aquafitness and Nordic Walking.

Her motto is: to be curious and try out new things.

With the age of 45 she started to train in Ariel silk and playing the harp to be challenged physically and mentally. "My passion is to inspire peoples movement in a fluid energized way, so they feel stronger and taller with ease and fun."
